No mate they didn't.
I suspect it may have been damaged in transit (if its not down to the shambles of a dealership I am dealing with).
I am taking my mate (panel beater/spray painter) with me, when the dealer calls to say it has arrived so I can get an expert eye to look over it.
I have always done this (checked the car on arrival) as I had a problem years ago when a car I ordered turned up with the wrong interior trim.
You have any suspicions why it could take so long?

Apart from arriving faulty (which doesn't seem to happen very often) or damaged (which sadly does happen quite a lot ) the only other reason i can think of is that it's been delivered to the wrong dealership, which has happened to me twice so far this year!

Well I sure hope it is the 3rd one of the above.
Still would have thought my dealership would have happily told me this, if it was indeed the case?
Anyway will sit patiently for it to arrive now and get my mate to give it a good look over before I accept it.

In fairness to you dealership, they most likely don't know why either.

Whenever I've had a car that has been stuck at the import centre for an unusually long time and I've asked Fiat for a reason all I've ever got back (if anything at all! ) is something like "awaiting parts" or "now prioritised for delivery" which doesn't help at all.

I don't have any real issues with the dealership its my salesman who is an lazy asshole.
Sales manager has been very good and at least returns your calls!!
Also pleased that Fiat UK didn't hang around and got on the case pronto.
Any how I am not going to worry about if there is or is not any damage to it, will see when it arrives and deal with it accordingly.
I still believe most of the delay is down to the dealership and will remain of that opinion until shown otherwise.
