Ordered My Car :-)

Hi All

Thanks to everyone over the past few months for their advice and patience in responding to my questions I've today ordered my new 500 yay !!

I wanted one for delivery in mid-September after I come back from my holidays so my dealer was really helpful in finding a list of everything in the 4 colours I was looking at which was made and en route from the factory - it took me about 45 mins to go through all the print outs to decide what I wanted - at least it was made a bit easier by having a finite number to choose from !

Anyway, I've gone for the following :-

• 1.4 Sport
• Punk Grey (I was also looking at Pasodoble Red, Tropicalia Yellow and Crossover Black but thought the grey was a bt different - and yes I have seen it in the metal !!)
• Black leather upholstery
• 16" 5 spoke "O" alloys
• red brake callipers
• side stripe with chrome 500 logo

phew ! (mind you the black with red leather sounded nice but was spoilt (IMHO) by the red chequereed roof !)

Now all I have to do i think of a name for him (her ?)

Nice spec, the "o" spoke alloys look great and are also easy to clean (sad fact I know). I will at some point be painting my calipers as it was'nt a factory option for our 1.2 sport & think its a worth while addition.

I also thought about painting the callipers. Just a word of caution. I painted my husbands callipers for him. We made sure the paint was really dry and used specialised calliper paint.

However, when I washed my husbands car the other week - I discovered lots of tiny red paint spots on the paintwork of the car. I don't know why it has done this although I have to say they are hardly visible - except to eagle eyed people like me!

great spec don't forget rear head restraints if you want them - its the one thing I forgot and I really regret it.

Sounds like good combo. I think Punk grey is the only colour I haven't yet seen in the flesh.

As I understand it the leather upholstery comes with rear head restraints and 50:50 split seats - couldn't get 50:50 seats on cloth trim without going for a factory order in any of the colours I wanted so went for leather as a plan B - really wanted red leather with punk but it only seems to come on black cars, despite the fact that it looks like an option for everything on the fiat site, tho my dealer said that the web site lets you configure combinations that aren't possible

Mind you he also said my 3.5 year old Mazda 3 2.0 Sport was only worth 5,800 a his opening price so not sure I believe anything he says lol

Your dealer is either incompetent or was lying to you.

I've supplied 3 (so far) Punk Grey 500s with Red Leather - it looks fantastic!
