Default Excitement

Hi all.
Currently a Mini driver but just heard our new baby is in this country - could be getting her soon...I'm in my 40's should I really feel like a little kid with a new toy!!!!
We weren't this excited when we got the Mini so what is with the 500 that brings out the child in people.

Its the special magic a 500 brings!!! I also am in my 40's and never had so much excitement when buying a car, which started when actually deciding what colour, spec, interior etc to have....took ages lol , then the wait for her to get here!!!! All adds to the excitement!!! Far better than just turning up at a dealer and they saying its either this or this!!!
Have had Bibi ( they HAVE to have a name ) since march and apart from a few probs which have been sorted I still love getting in her and pootleing along seeing peoples faces smile as we go by
What spec have you gone for?? any idea how long till the car is ready for pick up and the real magic can begin??

Thumbs down

Disappointment has arrived - after 3 months of waiting dealer has valued our Mini and claimed depreciated by nearly £1000 since ordering 500 3 monhs ago - should we still go for the 500-if a MINI supposedly depreciates that quickly, just what would a 500 be worth in a couple of years. Gonna ring dealer as to why such a low value for our car.

Have you tried seeing how much a main Mini dealer would give you?? Found when part xing my car the fiat dealer valued mine much lower ( suzuki swift) and got far more by selling it privately on ebay, in fact it went to a suzuki main dealer!!!!

Sold our Mini on Piston Heads for far more than the Dealer would have given me. Very painless process.

The dealer will not give you a good deal and I'm afraid cars to depreciate massively in their first couple of years.

Try and sell the Mini privately - just be careful in the way the buyer pays you (bankers drafts etc can be fakes!!!)

Good luck and don't let this put you off the 5oo - they are really worth it!
