Default Factory closed all August?

A member of another forum has posted saying that the factory in Poland is closed all of August.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Surely this cant be true!
Hope this is not the case as my wee 500 is at "status 16" and is either being or about to be built.
If true it will undoubtedly mean I wont have my 500 to the end of September at the earliest and more likely October.

Question Mmm

Does sound odd for a car factory, not unusual in europe though, I work for a Spanish company and most of our factories close around now for four weeks.

Strange for a car plant though especially since they seem to have high demand as its new.

Hope its not true for the sake of your new car arriving

I agree, just can't see a whole car plant closing down for a whole month.
It would undoubtedly take a week or 2 to get it back up and running again after a month closed.
I can see production slowing down if that is the holiday period in Poland but to close completely seems outdated in this day and age.
Thanks, sure hope it doesn't close and delay my wee gem.

Almost all car factories in Europe close in August for between 2 and 4 weeks, both to give the workers a decent holiday and to give the owners a chance to carry out any repairs that require the lines to be stopped or to make any necessary changes for production of new models (ever wondered why production of most new models starts after the Summer?).

Production restarts in all the Fiat factories on Monday 25th August.

Cheers for that.
Should I expect some movement of my cars status (has been status 16 for 3 weeks) about a week after the 25th Scrogg?

Depending on how many orders are in the system when production restarts, your car should be built and start its journey towards the UK either that week or the week after.

I ordered my Nuovo 500 mid-July and the dealer is still unable to give me any idea on the delivery date. Should I be concerned?

You probably have a dealer like mine, bloody lazy and cant be bothered checking.
I ordered the 4th July and according to my salesman it is still at status 16 (7 weeks today at that stage).
I intend to go in and see him next Wednesday on my day off, and he better have soon news or I will be calling Fiat to complain.
Try calling them 1st and ask for an update.
