Smile Advertising on NF500.

Hello folks.

As you've probably (hopefully?) noticed we're doing away with the large Google adverts at the top of pages here at NF500, and replacing them with direct advertising.

For anyone interested, you can see some details of what we're offering here: Advertising opportunities at NF500.com

Hopefully this will have a couple of benefits to all who use the site.

The first priority from my point of view is to get a good balance between advertising income and site intrusion from advertisers and banners. Direct selling gives us a little more control over who can advertise and how, as experience with MINI2.com has taught me, I intend to advise any potential advertisers to try and lay off too many annoying looping animations, flashing images and such. There will be NO pop-ups or pop-unders EVER.

Also, hopefully any site sponsors will be directly related to the Fiat 500, although of course we could attract more general automotive companies. With any luck, these new advertisers will wish to join in and interact on the forums. I don't mean purely to push products at the expense of legitimate conversation, but to offer advice in their particular field.

Discounts and special offers for our visitors and members could also be a very positive spin-off from direct promotion on NF500, I certainly hope so!

It's a tightrope, I wish to offer the best value to advertisers, but also with a positive impact for our visitors, rather than negative, that way it's a win-win situation.

Great, thank you.

Emails on it's way to those who've been in touch ASAP. Just need to iron out a bug with the software to make sure all works well.
