Default Getting Busy!

Which is, of course, a good thing

But one thing I have noticed is that a lot of threads are disappearing quickly and are, as a result, being duplicated.

What about having a separate '500 Speccin' section where all the 'What Colour' 'What Engine' 'What Wheels' etc threads could be kept together?

I do, very occasionally, have a good idea or two!

There's been 5 new members sign up in the last 24 hours - not bad going at all!

For the moment I'd rather keep it tight with just the one Fiat 500 forum, as I really don't like to litter the place with too many forums and sub-forums. What I have done though is increase the number of threads shown on the forum pages to 30 from 20 by default, so that should help alleviate the situation.

Being new I don't know whether I am permitted to be trouble already?

But looking at all the posts in just three forums is getting rather tiresome when you want to find a group of topics.

Is there a way that threads can be merged if they are basically are the same subject/topic .. or is that too much hassle?

You wouldn't be allowed in if you weren't trouble!

Yes they can, but only by an Administrator or Moderator.

As we have none of the latter and only one of the former (Paul) it's down to him to decide if threads need merging etc...

(Although I do agree that some could do with it, as we seem to be very good at having the same conversation in lots of different threads! )

For a specific topic the best thing (and first thing) to do is Search.

When you're coming back, you should click the New Posts link which will show all new and updated threads.

I've just switched on 'similar threads', which means the system should automatically link to similar threads below the last post of every page of each conversation.

Also, you can change settings if you wish in your user control panel (AKA User CP) to show more results per page when you look at the forums, so you can see more threads at once. The default is 30 so as not to explode the server and keep reasonable load times, but if you prefer a longer list you can always set that individually.

Keep the suggestions coming in, just because they're not done right away doesn't mean they wont be done eventually.
