First Customer Cars Now In Production

I hear over on the Fiat Forum that the first customer cars are currently being built & are now promised for the 21st Jan.

I got told the same today, the sales manager at the dealership told me the cars are currently being built and I should have mine for the lauch day on the 21st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered mine about the 3rd week in November so surprised it's here that quick! But my dealer said I was the first and still the only order that they have taken on one! So maybe thats helped push it through!

Oh, I ordered early October, promised I am in the first batch so hopefully 21st Jan will be on.

I would say so m8, If I'm getting mine for January and I ordered in end of Nov, you should definetly be getting yours!!

My dealer gave me the impression that Fiat were trying to create a little bit of hype with the ordering process to create a rush to buy, dont know how true that it is? He also said that there had already been a stack of RHD cars built and ready to go but they wont to hold them back for the launch! So it peoples 500's may already be built and we just cant have em yet!

All good fun though I suppose! Seems more excitement over the 500 than the MINI at the mo! Quite surprised as the 500 has got less of a connection over here than the Mini!

i have a receipt for a deposit in june 07 and the finalising of the order was around 6weeks ago.

been promised delivery on the 21st jan 08.

1.4 sport ordered through dealer
1.2 lounge through the fiat500 website - direct through fiat finalised at dealer.

I ordered mine back in August / September and was on track to get the car at the start, but the dealer now says it will be 4th February, which I'm a bit miffed off about as I've changed the spec umpteen times to avoid big delays. Unless, it's all this spec changing, which has caused the delays.

Oh well, will just have to drive around with my eyes closed :-o until I get mine so I don't see any other ones and get jealous.

I'm still finding it hard to believe that any customer cars will be delivered in January, as nothing seems to have a build date earlier than Week 3 (week-commencing 14 January) and it takes at least 2-3 weeks to then get the cars to the UK dealers

I ve been in contact with customer care, they say "Feb build", no more specific than that. I'm pretty dissalusioned with my dealer & FIAT in general at the moment & I am know worried if I have actually done the right thing.
