The two cylinder petrol does sound very interesting, but my current intention is to buy a 1.3 diesel with Lounge specification and (possibly) leather seats. If Fiat bring out a more powerful diesel version then that would also be of interest, although I might even be tempted by a petrol Abarth if the price was right - decisions, decisions

I would be happy with the Pop but have insisted on having air con....so am wondering of the Sport would be the best one to go for!

I've been uming and ahing about air con. I have survived 3 years without it and when I did have it I never used it. I prefer to open a window if it's sunny, not be stuck in a fridge! The only reason I'm considering it is for when it comes to re-sale... will anybody want to buy a car without it in a few years time (let alone now!). But then again, why should I pay £500 more for something I don't use. My 2 heads are arguing! I think I'll go without it to be honest.

Whether you should go from the Pop to Sport or to the Lounge is up to you. The specs are very similar. The Sport adds a spoiler and tinted windows, the Lounge has glass roof, chrome kit and split folding rear seats. All of which you can add on in the options so I guess it just depends on which interior you prefer and maybe which alloys you prefer

I thought about A/C also, to be honest I can use the £500 for something else as for the little I'll use it I can't see the point, used it maybe 2twice a year in the Insight.

The Pop has most of what I wanted & I wanted to be able to choose what options I had, so I started with a 'blank canvas' & specced it accordingly.

Also, I avoided the Lounge mainly as the seat material makes my eyes bleed.

Absolutely, that's the way I'm going too. The Pop is a nicey equipped car as it is, if you want the extra things you just add them. I'd much prefer to spend the £500 on alloys and a chrome kit or say leather seats as those are things that intrest me more. We have so few hot days in the UK that why anyone would want to turn the air con on is beyond me. I know for the first few minutes of a journey can be pretty stifling but that's just part of summer. Open a window and enjoy it!

I know it can get noisey with the windows open and I know air con is great for demisting, it's just not for me. I can understand why people go for it though - I'm not intentionally starting a massive argument about air con

One thing I do want on the Pop is a leather steering wheel, but you HAVE to have Blue & Me aswell. I know it's a great bit of kit, but as the CD player is MP3 CD compatible it wasn't something I was that bothered about... especially as I don't even have a Bluetooth phone! But hey, if I want the leather steering wheel and it's gonna cost £350 so be it.

My spec on order is:

Red 1.4 Sport
16" alloys
Starsky & Hutch stripe
Glass roof
Folding rear seats
Red calipers

it will be our 2nd car and is a surprise pressie for my wife who adores the original 500 and eveything else thats Italian and cool..

Our main car is currently an Impreza WRX but with a 2nd baby on the way I'll be buying a BMW 535d in May or so.

Big comfy diesel and nippy cheeky Italian small car - thats my dream 'real world' garage I reckon...

On the flip side, you can also play music from the USB port so you can get a 4GB memory stick have have LOADS of music, saves having a load of valuable CD's in the car (also there is no where to keep CD's).

That is indeed true, but I can have the same amount of tracks on a handful of MP3 CDs and play them in the MP3 compatible CD player. It's just a tad annoying that you have to pay an extra £250 for a piece of equipment when all you really want is a £100 leather steering wheel. The Blue & Me will come in useful in the future though I'm sure
