Default Mile(age) High Club

Approaching the 1000 mile boundary soon (currently on 950 ish). That is if I'm not called in by Fiat before then to have the Multijet engine parts changed. I'm very pleased with the consumption I'm getting so far (62.4 MPG average) and saving about £35 per month on fuel costs.

Any other high miles covered yet?

You say average, but is it mainly motorway??

It is about 80/20 in favour of motorway driving. But the motorway in question is the M60 and I can be crawling along that for 10-15 minutes at 10 miles per hour. In terms of an average figure ... the consumption figure I quoted is the vehicle's trip B average for the type of journeys I make and for my style of driving. Another multijet driver may not get the same figures. If the main type of driving is city driving, you would have to question the rationale of buying a diesel. I bought a diesel on account of the type of driving I do.

I should imagine no matter what the driving condtions and driving style are the derv engine will always give a better return that the equivalent petrol version. Inspite of all that the multijet engine is very quiet, smooth and has a lot of touque which also lends itself to stop start type driving conditions. This is my first derv powered car and I am convinced it was the correct choice for me.
