Default New 500 and aftermarket chrome

Hi to everyone,

We have just been and ordered an 1.2 sport this morning for my girlfriend. Very impressed with the 1.2 engine, nippy and cheap to run. We thought about the 1.4 but couldn't justify the cost, I recently bought a grande punto m-jet so now we have two fiats, been really pleased.

Dealer thinks it will be here in a week or because it was already stocked and in the country. Apparently fiat released a load of stock to the dealers this morning. Managed to get all the options we wanted bar the chrome kit.

Went for Pasodoble red,
Chrome mirrors,
Side Rubbing strip and badges
Small italian flag badges
16" multispoke alloys,

Anyone know if you can order the chrome bumper inserts for the sport? says only for the pop on the fiat website but don't umderstand why.

What do you mean by Fiat released a lot of stock, do you mean some were sent by transporter from the docks/processing centre. If so then mine should be one of them

Lots of pre-spec cars have (apparently) been distributed to the dealerships to shift quick, rather than built to order cars, which should not be affected either way by these other cars.

Yes apparently pre-spec cars so no custom builds but its good if you don't want too many options and are quite flexible. I was quite lucky just no chrome kit.

We are in a similar boat with our half day old 1.4 sport!
Our dealer, confirmed they could be added to the sport. (I'd seen the 'pop only' on the web, also)He quoted £90 + vat for the chrome kit and 2 hours labour to fit.
This made it £280, which makes the £100 from the factory seem very reasonable.

We haven't decided what to do yet, but I'd rather not pay that much.
Is a diy fit possible? How hard could it be....

I think it will be glue to stick it on. There is someone on ebay selling them for £104 for both bits of chrome, would just be fitting it then. If I can find out how its attached I'll do it myself.
