Well the 500 was to replace the Insight that was coming to the end of it's warranty period, if Honda still made them I would have bought another, it was a lovely car.

I popped the Insight up for sale & it sold much quicker than ecpected, so I had to buy a car to get to work in, that's where the 525 comes in, 180k FSH german uber barge for £650.

I've had 7 or 8 Ford Kas over the last 9 years, but 2 have been completely awful, unrepairable and ended up being rejected and going back to Ford! Despite the problems I still like little Fords.

My 'heart' says: Buy a Fiat 500 Lounge early next year.
My 'head' says: Wait for the all new Ford Ka to be launched late next year.
And me! Mines a 2006 basic model with fabulous grey plastic bumpers. I love it... but I want a car with a CD player, electric windows and central locking please!

Currently driving an Audi A2. The 500 will be a second car, with my Fiat Barchetta for when we have really sunny days in the UK (i.e. doesn't get used much ). Got a 1963 Alfa Giulietta Spider in bits for summer 2009! Had Fiats and Lancias in the past and looking forward to the 2008/9 Lancia Delta HPE and Fulvia.

The new Ka is basically a Fiat 500 - same engines, electronics etc., but Ford body, interior and chassis settings. Even made in the same factory. The Ka will be cheaper than the equivalent 500.

So, get yourself a 500 now and part ex it in a six months for a new Ka and hopefully your pocket won't lose out. Head and Heart win-win situation

My new 500 will replace a much loved Peugeot 107. I'm all for this fun but frugal driving!

Cheers

Rich (dizzyheights) were/are you a member of the 107oc? It's a car I was considering a few years ago but decided to stick with the Ka in the end. It's a nice little car (as is the Aygo and C1), pretty funky interior and not bad to drive. Pretty cheap too!

No i'm not a member of the 107oc. Thought about it, but I never joined. The 107 is a fantastic car. I got a demo 5 door black Urban with 2K knocked off the list price with all the kit in Nov 2005It's reall quick off the mark at the lights and is dirt cheap to run. It will still be staying in the household, so I can still drive it when I feel like it.

Was tempted to buy the Aygo Blue, but then thought why should I buy the same car again. Also looked at the new Mazda 2, but have opted for the fun 500.

Cheers

Rich
