Smile Unexpected features?

Did any of you guys find any unexpected features in your Fiat 500 when you bought them? Like a particularly well placed storage area or a computerised function that is pretty useful?

Today I discovered lane change indicator signalling! Fantastic! And, I don't know if it's just be being mad, but I'm sure my lights (dipped beam) automatically turn themselves off if I put them on and it's daylight. For example, today it was kind of dim so I put my lights on, the dials lit up red as you'd expect, but I later noticed that my dials were back to normal and my lights had turned off - even though the column stalk was in the dipped position.

Anyway, that is all so far!

Rather thaan indicating normally you tap the indicator enough so that it doesn't click into position, but enough so that it flashes the indicator two or three times automatically. You usee this featuure mainly on motorways to indicate a lane change ... so you don't have to cancel the indicators yourself.

Other neat touches:
  • Speed locking ... you can set the doors to automatically lock when you drive off
  • Day time running lamps
  • Speed limit indicator that tells you when you exceed a pre-programmed speed limit

Tom, I think the lights stay on, but there's a light sensor in the combimeter, which turns the illumination on and off. I don't know why as it just ends up flashing on and off as you go in and out of shadows etc.

Next time the illumination is off, shield the combimeter with your hand and you'll see it come back on.

My favourate thing so far is with the Blue & Me system. I was talking to my friend (who also has a 500) over the Bluetooth and i had another incoming call from my Mum. I was able to tell my friend that i would phone back and accept the incoming call from my Mum! The only problem was it was to tell me off for something i had forgotten to do!!!! Doh!

I've just discovered the passenger seat 'secret' storage, the pullout holder thingey that hits your left leg when you rest against it, and the book holder on the roof of the glove box area!

Any more secret/nifty storage i dont know about??

Today my 500 warned me that there may be ice on the road! On the trip display, when the temperature went to 3 degrees, it displayed 'Warning... Possibly... ice on... road."

Not so much a "feature", more of a "trait".

Very happy with the behaviour in the windy conditions, no weaving at all on the motorway.
