Default London Eye Leather

A bit of a heads up on the Leather trim. I have just returned from the London Eye and have to admit I'm a leather convert.

I still feel the black/ivory Lounge trim is most in keeping with the car's retro character but the leather seats are sooooo comfortable and although especially the seat backs look saggy in pictures you don't get that impression in the flesh. I also got felt the leather seats afforded more headroom than the lounge seats although I have no reason for this feeling.

The weather at the launch cleared up nicely in time for the opening at 18:00. The bands seemed to enjoy themselves and the sound was probably spot on as regards amplification. The girls standing around the cars were very amenable and the one I spoke to seemed reasonably well informed, she even new the Funk White as not due until September.

Looks good , I went for the leather option as we have a dog and needed something a bit more durable , English Springer Spaniel and cloth seats do not get on....

am i the only one that opened the attached images? or is everyone else blind?!?

Red seats = nice colour

but the quality of those seats is shocking! Lets assume that as they were show cars they'd had a good going over to check they are as best as they can be? whats the customer seats going to look like after 6 months?

I have had leather on 3 of my previous cars each with various degrees of quality however all suffered from sagging in certain areas.

I think it is a characteristic of leather that you have to learn to live with , the cracks and sagging that will occur can give the car a more lived in look but at the end of the day you tack your pick and make your choice .

Leather for me everytime, and if the problems are excessive then i will be back at the dealer for them to sort.

Comparing the leather in the 500 to other cars I've had a lot of time in lately (the MINI and the Volvo XC90) it doesn't feel up to scratch.

Oh well, having the cloth isnt an option for me due to having a dog that loves mess so will have to see how it holds up over time , suppose worse case scenario if fiat wont remedy any problems is a vist to a specialist upholsterer.

Is the leather not prone to being scratched by dog claws at all then?
