Cancelled my order with DBS Desira (Hertford) last week and placed it with someone else.

I have been chasing and chasing my refund from DBS and have just found they have gone into Administration as well. I am told they cant refund my credit card and they they will be sending me a cheque instead.

Is my cheque going to bounce? Whats up with Fiat dealers going bust, youl think with all the orders for new 500's it would boost their finances and give them a break from being made redundant .

Thank god I changed my order last week. You dont have plans to go bust do you Scrogg??

Sounds like they could've been part of Caledonia. I wouldn' t hold my breath waiting for the cheque as Joe Public is at the bottom of the creditor pile when it comes to divvying up a company's assets when they go bust. Put the ball squarely in your credit card company's court (assuming your deposit was £100 or over.

Regards,
Tony.

They're not, they're an independent.

Caledonia Motor Group are only in the North West.

That's a good idea. They may be able to help you get your money back.

Years ago they used to have dealerships elsewhere in England; back in the early 90s they had the Fiat/Alfa franchise for Southampton but that closed down after a few years - Fiat historically seems to have struggled in the South and for a few years after Caledonia's withdrawal the nearest Fiat dealer to Southampton was about 25 miles away.

The moneysavingexpert thread does mention a site in Newport. Perhaps it's under a different brand and maybe not a FIAT dealership.

Regards,
Tony.

Talking Just got some brilliant news

Well, FIAT have just made my day

They've rung back and confirmed they both have my order, and that is still on for an end Feb delivery.

Can't stop grinning.

Might have a run to Vardy's in Stockport later and try and blag a test drive and an invite to the launch on Monday.

Cheers,
Tony.

P.S. I grinned so much I broke the 12 smiley/image limit for the post

I forgot about Newport Citroen. I shouldn't have done really, you can see it from our site in Newport!

I take it that's who you are now buying your car from?

Kudos to Fiat for sorting things out so quickly.
