A Bar Fitting - Advice Needed

Hi all! As I continue adding pieces to my 500 I've now hit a stumbling block....

Has anyone fitted the A Bar themselves succesfully? I got one (official Lineaccesori too!) for £40 on ebay!! I'm dead chuffed.......... but now I need some advice.....

The instructions say that I need either Dow Corning 7091 or Loctite 5900:

1. They are both more of a sealant than an adhesive - are Fiat correct that this is the best thing to use?

2. If anyone has fixed one using either of these, how long did you have to hold it in place for/ not use your car etc? Instructions say 48hrs - surely they cannot expect me to live without my 500 for that long??!!

3. Has anyone succesfully used an alternative? Both products are pretty expensive and hard to get hold of - I wanted to fit it on Saturday
