Does anyone know why the new ka only makes an euro NCAP score of 4 when the 500 makes 5stars? I tought they were the same cars I heard something about the new ka is missing esp but I don`t know if this is true....

The new kas obviously burn well, that might be a reason

this from carscoop.blogspot.com
a transporter full of kas went up in flames -
electrical problem suspected!

Does Tino or anyone know if the wiring loom for the new Ka is different to the loom for the Fiat 500?

I'm sure Ford will want to know why their Ka didn't get as many stars as the 500 in the crash test.

Less airbags I believe was one of the reasons.

The bodies are different, as are the interiors, so there's a lot of scope for different results from various types of impact, including how the car folds up and where the dash etc go to.

These are the Euro NCAP reports for the 500 and for the Ka.

Euro NCAP - For safer cars | Fiat 500
Euro NCAP - For safer cars | Ford Ka

The 500 has better (more of them) airbag protection as standard and during the crash test there dashboard structures posed less of a risk to the front passengers. The 500's standard knee airbag also protected the driver more than in the Ka (which does without the knee airbag)

The pedestrian impact protection is a bit better on the 500 I assume on account of the slightly better bonnet protection.

The first new (Fiat built) Ford kas are now arriving at Ford dealers in the UK
I saw my first one yesterday

A bit dull and dreary in black I thought, and this was the Zetec model expected to be £9495 approx

I 'm on the lookout for a light and bright coloured petrol driven one,
such as they have on the continent.

Seeing as I'm such a massive fan of the original Ka, I really should have been filled with anticipation when I went down to the dealer today to have a look. But I was just like, hmm how exciting. It was a bit of a none event really. Usually when I see new cars I get all excited, but this, nahh, not fussed at all. It was the only one they had and wasn't able to sit in it, but the interior looked alright from looking through the window. They had a LOVELY white Fiesta Zetec S that well and truely put it to shame. Anyway here are some photos of the Ka and Poco

Gonna head over to the Gloucester garage to see if there's anything over there.

Well obviously, the transporter spontaniously combusted from the shame of having to carry such a hideous vehicle.
