Do the petrol versions need serviced that quickly?
The diesel is 18000 or 2 years which ever comes first.
£240 does seem expensive for a 1st service, my Civic was £118 for its 1st service but is due its 2nd service £320

Edit :- Just been in touch with Fiat and the service intervals are 18000/1 year whichever comes 1st on the diesel.
Whats the point of having extended mileage intervals but you still have to have the car serviced annually if you dont do those mileages!

It's 18,000 miles/12 months on all engines.

The point is that every car should have, at the very least, the oil changed every 12 months, as it deteriorates at virtually the same rate regardless of what mileage is covered during that time.

Modern synthetic/semi-synthetic oils allow for a greater mileage on the same oil, meaning higher mileage drivers no longer face higher servicing costs having to have their cars done more often.

Maybe Fiat could have condition-based service intervals like MINI for example, but this would push the price of the cars up.
