Default She finally has a name

Well, I've finally officially named my car. She has been unofficially called this for a while now though.

Say a big HELLO to Carla (The Red Devil).

Named after my Grandad Charles whose birthday it would've been the day between her arriving at the dealer and me picking her up. And the other bit is a combination of her "brio" in driving characteristics and of course my favourite footie team's nickname (regular readers already know that UTD sits on my number plate).

Unfortunately she picks up a lot of much when I drive to work over the Snake - Mark Elvin can testify how much Snake Pass salt she'd accumulated when I went down to Bristol for the Italia Car Day back in April. She does get washed - honest.

Whereabouts in Glossop are you?

Regards,
Tony.

P.S. I hope the sheep in your profile aren't those suicidal ones on that first bit of the Snake

Simmondley overlooking Hargate hill farm......................wife has preliminarily called my little baby "Cilla"..................................don't know why.

All i do know is she knackers up the fuel economy driving around in the wrong gear all the time............was doing 55.2, which is not bad for a petrol engine, and when has finished down to 49-50.

Drive past your place most days on way back from work about 3.45 i recognised the car from the pic and first noticed it early summer when i was guzzling past everyday in my s2000.

And to everyone else i would recommend getting mud flaps fitted on the back as i can now see out of the rear.....cuts down spray and c*ap by about 70%..........i had 2 mini water spouts flying up the side in the wet very disconcerting.

And the sheep are everywhere here always making escape bids from the back fields........wake up in the summer with them wandering down the road and in everyones gardens annhialting the local fauna.

You didn't used to live on Long Lane did you? Remember an S2000 there outside the little row of cottages near that huge "Slow down" sign. They used to have Scimitars too.

I can hear Derbyshire sheep from my back door. I think its the farm that had the siege a few years ago.

I might be coming a bit closer to you for the next couple of weeks - the Snake is closed on weekdays, presumably so they can fix that bit of the road that had the landslip. I've got two choices - A628 behind lorries or through Hayfield, Chapel and Castleton.
