5-Year Warranty on 500 ... come on Fiat what's your problem?

My usual bugbear with the Nuova 500 ...

You can now get 5 years warranty on Bravo and Grande Punto. Given that the 500 is "the highest quality car Fiat has produced" why are they being so slow to offer 5 years warranty on the 500

Not saying they can't afford it, I'm saying they want MORE ££££.

When they decide they "should" or need to offer it I'm sure they will.

I guess that depends on, again, the cost of offering it to those who already made the purchase, they'd be under no obligation to do so.

I suspected that was the probable reason behind it (as well as margin), but I was officially told by Fiat that the reason the combined 5 year warranty / financing option wasn't being offered was that "their systems were not in place at the time". This is when I asked back in January. How long does it take?!?!?

I wouldn't have minded if they offered a Mini TLC like package whereby you pay an extra amount (say £250 = £5x50 or so) for a full 5 year servicing and warranty package.

In Norway the 500 comes with a 5 year warranty as standard. But the other Fiat models only have a 3 years warranty.

And in Finland the warranty for 500 (and all other Fiat models also) is 3+2 years. Firts 3 years the whole car is covered, but the last two years only engine and drivetrain are under warranty. Earlier all Fiat models had a full 5 year warranty.
