Ah yes.

I arrived at the garage to collect the car yesterday, CCP having deamed the paint sub standard, to be told I can't have the car until Thursday as it's in the bodyshop. This is despite me telling both the dealer & Customer Care also saying that on no account are Central Bodyshop to touch the car again.

Turns out Simonstone were instructed to put the car in the bodyshop by customer care.

FIAT are now saying that the car will be inspected again on Thursday & if the work is sub standard then they will replace the car. Not sure what I belive now.

I have sent several e-mails to Customer Care today voicing my further concerns & also copying them on a letter I am ending to What Car & Auto Express.

Basically, at the moment I have a car that needed just the bonnet painting, and has resulted in having the bonnet, 2 wings, bumper & the L/H doorstep painted.

I feel like the "innocent victim" in this saga & I feel determined to get FIAT as much bad press as humanly possible at the moment as they have clearly gone back on their word, I feel physically sick just thinking about it & am loosing sleep.

Not once has there been any mention of offering me anything for all the pronlems & trouble this has caused me either.

Shame really as this could have so easily been a "What Fantastic Customer Care" thread in stead of a shit fight.

Shocking treatment, I'd be going insane by now if I were you.

Bad PR is the thing FIAT need on this, call the local radio, write to the papers, motoring press, anyone, shout and holler!

That's what I'm doing, I have sent a copy of an e-mail I intend to send to The Telegraph Motoring pages, what Car & auto Express to FIAT, to see what they come back with.

I'll send it to the press if I hear nothing today.

Local papers and radio are good too, although smaller scale, they hit the dealer more than the company as a whole, if that's who your main beef is with.

In this sort of situation you have no idea who's telling the truth, sad but true.

Don't you just wish people would take some pride in their work and get it right first time?!

Having a lot of annoying problems with our new house, mostly down to crap and careless workmanship.

Mark

I am realy sorry and hope you are ok. I can identify with the sleepless nights - We had major problems with our Estate Agents - the thought of what I went through still makes me feel sick four months on.

Please take care and I know it is easy to say, but try to get some rest from it - stress is not good for you.

Take care.

Funny this just happened, had a call from Martin at Fiat C/Care, he is apparently on the case with logistics & they are seeing how quickly they can get brand new me a car to my exact spec!!!!

Hopefully they will remain true to their word.

Sounds like it could be good news then Mark?

Hopefully they'll find one a bit closer than the ones I could find
