Just what I thought you might say!

I was advised by our local mechanic not to let them touch mine, but just to push for compensation. makes me sick just thinking what they might do to my car after what happened to yours.

Anyway try to forget it for now and have a fantastic holiday.

Whilst gving the car a pre-holiday wash I noticed that I no whave vertical scratches on the leading 8" of both doors that were not there before!!!!!

A suitably worded e-mail have been sent to Martin @ fiat, I basically said I feel that the car is returned in a orse state than they recive it each time & I feel like asking for a new car in replacement.!!!!

Miss Bently, my car has dirt under the paint work just inside the door sill. not too visible so Im going to leave it. I mentioned to Craig (body shop manager) that there was someone else with a 500 that had a defect with dirt under the paint. My stone chip damage is going to cost £80 to get fixed! might wait until I get more chips to make it worth my while.

Mark my car had to go back twice to get the sanded scratch marks out of the paint, it didnt look like it had been polished after the paint defect was sorted. They made sure it was dont to my satisfaction though! What are they going to do about the dent, thats awful! how did they explain that one to you. I would be going mental! Although accidents happen but not when they have cocked up the rest of the car too. I really feel for you and hope you get it all sorted. x

Back from hols now.

Turns out there are many more probs with my 500 paintwork than I noticed.

On the last visit it went in needing the bonnet re-painted.

It came back needing.....

1. L/H door step painted for a 2nd time as the dealer damaged it & the repait is very poor.

2. Bonnet painting again as the finish is full of fish eyes.

3. Bumper for some reason has been repainted, leaving matt paint around the DLR's & scratched under the L.H headlight.

4. Both wings have been re-painted badly & are full of fish-eyes & hard edged where they have masked it really poorly.

The car looks like it's been in a front end accident and has been badly repaired.

I have talked to FIAT and I am currently holding out as I am not happy for the car to go into the bodyshop again.

Having given the car a good wash yesterday I also find that the L/H headlight is covered in overspray as a result of poor masking.

I await a call from FIAT today.......

That's terrible.

What you going to do, ask for a replacement car? I think I'd be very tempted at this stage.

There are two options FIAT are considering at the moment, a new car, or take it to a bodyshop of my choice, only problem with that is is my choice of bodyshop don't get it right it then becomes my problem to sort with the bodyshop.

That's kind of shifting the responsibility, like you say, if it's not right, they'll probably blame THAT bodyshop and/or you.
