For those having issues with memory sticks still then I would firstly re-format the drive to FAT32 and try again. If it has U3 software on it then the stick's manufacturer may provide a utility to remove it. I think it lives in a seperate partition on the drive so it should be feasable to remove using the standard partitioning tools built in to Windows 2000/XP/Vista.

What does that mean in English, format the USB drive? If so I did that and mine still didn't work. x

Inserter le drive de USB dans le socket sur le ordinateur

Plug in the memory stick. Go to explorer and right click on the drive. Select "Format..." from the menu and a dialog box will appear.

Change the drop-down box under "file system" to the FAT32 option. Go down and alter the volume name or give it one if blank. This may trick B&M into thinking its a different drive. Make sure "Quick Format" is not ticked. Now click "start", then double-check you've got the correct drive and click ok. You'll get a progress bar and after a while you'll get a format complete message then you can close the "Format" dialog box.

Now copy some MP3 files to the stick, plug it in to your baby and fingers crossed.

Yeah thanks Tony.

BTW I also eventually bought a memory stick recommended in the Fiat handbook, am getting my Sony Micro Vault Tiny 4gb stick hopefully today.

My gf wants the other memory stick I bought, so that wasnt a total waste and I have also put my Ipod Holder and connection kit on Ebay, so hopefully will get a few quid for those, enough to put some more diesel in my tank

reformatted this new stick and it wont work either, getting really hacked off now.

When I drag the file over its looks the same as when I playing songs on Itunes, I cant work out how to save my whole file to .wpl or .mp3

What am I doing wrong. I have the right stick as suggested in the Fiat handbook. This is rediculous, why is this so hard, why doesnt it just plug and play?

Grrrr... Went to the dealer for the 3rd time to try and get an ipod to work, mp3 format in a separate folder on the ipod this time... no luck.

I was reading a few other forums and they seem to think unless it's a Windows formated ipod it will not work. Don't know if it's the same with memory sticks.

If this is true how !$#@!*! dumb! Have any Mac people had any luck???

There has been 110,000,000 ipods sold. Even if less than half of them are Mac formatted there are 50 million people who will be disappointed if they buy a 500

i use a 4 GB USB stick, you can access the tracks, albums, folders, even genres through the button on the steering wheel

i use windows media player to rip the CD's and save the tracks as wma

cool as!

And much cheaper than an iPod... which I have never bought and don't seee the need for to be honest as I don't walk or use public transport.

remember it is a windows media/mobile system so will work best with Microsoft media players
