That red is bright!

On a similar topic...has anyone found any good pictures that show the black leather option? Is it 'black' black or a very dark grey?

It may be the camera overexposing it. In an exterior shot of the same car showing it with a red stripe, the interior looks more muted. The leather sample I saw when I placed my order was quite muted.

Have a browse though that "Garage" section on the forum I mentioned above. That's also where you'll find the other photos of the car with the "bright" seats.

Regards,
Tony.

No worries. I'm happy....... I have pics galore of the red leather If it gets really saggy looking I'll take the car to a retrimmer who should be able to stretch the factory leather to fit the seat base better and trim away any excess material. I shouldn't think that it will be too expensive to have this done if/when required. I'm glad I picked the red now. It's going to look great against the white.

Just thought I'd make a quick post after seeing a physical car today and sitting in it with the red leather interior option which I've ordered on my car. I had read a few negative things about the quality of the leather and it looking tired and saggy when new. I'm pleased to say that the leather in the Sport I saw was excellent quality and the red is a very attractive shade (it's darker than most of the photo's I've seen) and goes really well with the Pasadoble red this car was finished in. It is a very fine surface texture leather and feels very thick with high quality stitching. In fact it looks better than the Dakota leather you get in BMW's to be honest. There was no sign of sagging and due to the thickness of the leather it should resist this pretty well IMHO. I'm extremely glad I've now seen it and very pleased I ordered it.

I didn't have a camera with me to take a pic sorry but if anyone is near or passing Northampton it's in Motorvogue's showroom.

Hi Guys,

I think the red will look nice, if you look at some of the other red things on the pics they look very bright too, which they aren't in real life. Might just be the light. I have ordered red/black fabric interior and am keen to see and pics of it. I hope thats not too bright. i had a quick peep on the Italian site on the garage section and could not see any there. If anyone has any pics they could put on or find some somewhere would be greatful if you could let me know. x

If you saw Fifth Gear on Monday then there may be a reasonable idea of what the red leather looks like as the Maserati Gran Turismo they were reviewing had red leather seats and trim.

That's the colour I'm anticipating for my 500 and is very similar to the colour in the pics taken by ensonricky at the London Eye Launch. London Eye Leather

Youtube have a video of the 5th Gear review YouTube - Fifth Gear Maserati GranTurismo

Regards,
Tony.

Tony,

I've got a GranTurismo on order as well and can tell you after seeing the red leather in both that the Fiat is, to my eyes at least, a much nicer colour. The Maserati is a very bright red which is too much IMHO. The Fiat is a much subtler shade. If the Maserati red had been the Fiat shade I'd have gone for it but I couldn't live with their lipstick red colour so have gone for beige/tan instead.
