Default Passener seat compartment

This is my first post so hello everyone.

I just picked my new 1.2 lounge up yesterday. The spec sheet says there should be a storage compartment under the passenger seat but I can't seem to open it. Is there some knack to it? I don't have the leather seats so I'm assuming it should be there.

Thanks.

Hello!
It's also deleted if you have the interscope upgrade.

I have the HiFi upgrade so that would explain that. The sub is under the drivers seat so I'm not sure why this means the passenger compartment had to go.

Cheers.

Can't find the thread, but apparently there is some wiring under the other seat. Storage is deleted for leather or interscope, If you have leather and the interscope, you still don't get under seat storage. two wrongs don't make a right. (><)

There is not much under the passenger seat, just a small wiring box on the left hand side but that does not take up much room.

The reason I was looking for the compartment is because I was looking for somewhere secue to store my locking wheel nut. I had a Clio some years ago where I had my alloys stolen. The theives broke into the car to find the locking wheel nut first, then used it to steel my wheels. I'm not going to repeat that mistake.

I have the compartment under the seat. It can be a little tricky to access it sometimes. I usually keep the sat nav there. Its great until your passenger gets in the car and then you realise you haven't got the sat nav out yet!

My only concern is thieves will get to know it is there!

To access the compartment, the technique is to lift up the front of the seat base cushion (squab) by placing your hand under the the front of the seat and pulling it up. The seat will pull out a few inches at a slight angle. You should then be able to put your hand in the gap created where the seat squab meets the backrest. Put your hand in there and pull forwards. Hey presto the compartment is revealed!

PS .. Just read that Weeble has the Interscope fitted therefore doesn't have the compartment. Well hopefully my post is useful anyway.

You could perhaps keep the locking nut in the document storage on the passengers side above the glove shelf....or what ever you call it. I find it hard to open so a thief would, and chances are they would not even know that storage space exists.
