From the problem I have had with my car I found out you reject the car to the garage and it is up to them if they accept it or not. Perhaps they are waiting to see if Fiat will accept the car as a reject from them.

I am sure you will get the result you want. I am keeping everything crossed for you. x

Thanks to everyone for your support - the garage has sent the paperwork to Fiat. I will let you know what happens next.

Hopefully I have done everything correctly with rejecting the car!

What Fiat say to the dealer shouldn't really be your concern, you're rejecting the car back to the dealer, your contract is with them, not Fiat.

I think the garage is being very cautious in what they say to me - only time will tell!

Despite ringing the dealer, I still haven't been given a decision on my car!!

Once again Fiat are fobbing me off.

Oh, and another thing - I am a member of another fiat club and forum - guess what, I have been accused of being a fashion victim.

Apparantly I have made a mistake and I no longer want my car, so I am making up a complaint that isn't really a problem so I can get my money back.

Truthseeker - rather than slag Bexx and myself off and hide - show yourself, join this forum and try to defend your talking out of your backside comments!!!

Thought you might like to see what Truth Seeker has written!

This story is familiar to me. It looks suspiciously like a thread I read on a forum where one guy who had substandard repairs to his paintwork was able to reject his car after having it for months. After it became clear he was getting a new car. 2 other started complainging about the paint on their cars in order to try get brand new ones aswell. If you have seen the photos of one it is clear it is not anything like as bad as they are complaining about.

Now it might just be me. But I fail to see how anyone who claims to be a fan of Fiats cars could possibly try to defraud Fiat out of several thousand pounds because they should have speeced their original car differently.

I would also like to point out I am not a member of FMC excellent club that it is. And so this view is not that of the Fiat Motor Club GB.
I am just a man disgusted at the actions of some people.

Unfortunately with the new 500 there are lots of poeple buying them for the wrong reasons. Percieved cool or just to be different to having a Mini. Then they seem to think this makes them Fiat fans. It probabily woudn't be so bad but then they start running down what I believe to be the best built car Fiat make with the possible exception of the current Panda.

Fashion victims turn my stomach.

I would not take any notice of what that guy has said, utter utter rubbish, - like Fiat are some sort of charity or something!

You've paid for a new car, which should be perfect, keep on at Fiat or though it can be a painful and stressful experience.

On the face of it it sounds like if you've not been a Fiat fan since birth you can't like or enjoy any of their cars, and woe betide you if you expect high quality...

Thanks for the support guys - its hard not to take that sort of stuff personally!

Well - I hate to bore you all but here comes the update.

Dealer rang back to say they have had nothing from Fiat (they emailed them the buy back form two and a half weeks ago). The dealer suggested I give Fiat a ring as well.

Apparantly the person that originally sent them the form is within Fiat commercial and would never be dealing with it anyway. I spoke to the department dealers sent the form to and he said it needed to go to the buy back department and he didn't know who that was or where they were within the organisation.

So I go back to Fiat Customer Care to be told by a lovely young man that the case was closed. He was very helpful and put me through to someone else who told me that the dealer had sent the form to the wrong place and Fiat had emailed them on many occasions to tell them to send it to the zone manager. I did point out that they could have forwarded it to the zone manager - but as usual with Fiat it fell on deaf ears. I also said that I was a Fiat customer stuck in the middle of all this - but I really don't think he cares.

Dealers were extremely annoyed and are now beginning to see where Fiat are fobbing me off. Apparantly the dealers sent the email to the zone manager in the first place.

I don't understand why Fiat can't just say sorry, you were unlucky and lets resolve it and replace your car. They are just creating a far worse problem and I am telling anyone who will listen.

My husband is ready to go to the dealers and go balistic - but I really don't think it is them causing the problems.

Oh for a stress free life.

Sorry to be a pain - I just need to offload this sometimes.
