Default 500 Challenge for Charity....

Hi guys,

I just wanted to post up on here about the the little adventure that our 500 will be having this summer to A. Have some really good craic with some rather far away Fiat friends & B. Raise some cash for a really good cause while we're at it!

(Our 500 trying to make it across the Atlantic by it's self)

(Its practicing for it's part in 'Baywatch' there I think)

Next week I'll be taking our 500 to Liverpool for shipping to New York were a month later we'll be reunited to take the car to the largest collection of Italian cars to be gathered in one American event ever. It is the 25th year of the 'FiatFreakOut' that the North American Italian Motor Club (FLU.ORG) and also it's 25 years since Fiat stopped selling cars on the American market.

(the FreakOut Flier)

While there the car will be a fund raiser for the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice, a charity that assists children and parents who are terminally ill. There's more details about this on our justgiving site Justgiving - N. I. Italian Motor Club 500 Fundraising

After that event we will dash across country to San Francisco to meet up with BARF (Bay Area Racing Fiat) were we will be showing the new 500 in golden gate park to the media and after that we'll be taking a leisurely trip down Highway 1 towards LA and then back to the East Coast for shipping home.

If you'd like to keep track of the 500's adventure Nige at the Novo500 Shop had kindly offered to do updates on his site, more of that soon.

I'll keep up dating this post with more info as we go and I look forward to hearing your comments.

Cool. Looking forward to the reports of Yanks falling off the road in surprise at the sight of a 500.

Sounds Amazing, and for a good cause. You should charge people to take pics like them little statues do in Barcelona/Prague and give thatmoney to the charity too. I look forward to hearing about your adventures. Good Luck. x

We met with Jim last bank holiday Monday just prior to the 500 being taken to Liverpool to be crated up and shipped to the USA. Updates are hosted on our website with a full blog and pics when they come through.

Its going to be July I think before information of the trip comes through - 500's aren't good sailors and its going to take a while for it to get there!
