Auto Express claim exclusive on the Fiat 500 Family
August 8th, 2007Auto Express are at it again with their crystal ball gazing, predicting the complete line up which they claim will form the Fiat 500 family.
From our experience, future predictions in Auto Express are to be taken with a fairly large chunk of salt, but none the less as one of the UKs leading publications it’s taken quite seriously by a fair few readers.
This week they’re carrying an article claiming an exclusive on the Fiat 500 family. Nothing new in the text for 500 watchers, but they have had photoshop artist Poblete, who has a good reputation for the quality of his guesstimations, to have a stab at visualising the Convertible, Wagon and Abarth version of the Fiat 500.

Here’s my opinion on that article, originally posted on Fiat Forum:
It’s amazing how much guff these car magazines make up. That whole article is just rubbish and doesn’t tell us anything new.
“As our exclusive main picture shows” - It’s exclusive because you photoshopped it!
The Abarth image was a nice try, but they’ve left it with a white Lounge interior.
“Flared wheelarches and 135 - 200bhp” - None of the spy shots of the Abarth have had flared arches and as we’ve discussed to death, only AE still think there will be a 200bhp road version.
And prices from £15,000??? For a 135 bhp car??? They won’t sell many of those then.
The regular car will “hit UK showrooms in January” - Errr. Feb 8th is the official date.
